The Decrowned Miss Tourism Kilifi County Sues The Organizers.

The Beauty queen who was de-crowned Miss Tourism Kilifi Catherine Memba Mage has proceeded to court to block the decision by the event organizers to replace her acquired crown because of allegedly being not from Kilifi county.

Catherine says she was born in Bombolulu Mombasa and raised at their Kikambala home which is in Kilifi County. She later joined Our Lady of Mercy High School in Meru.

The 22-year-old Kenya Methodist University student, who is pursuing a degree in business administration, told Word Is: "This whole fiasco has left me psychologically disturbed. I have missed several classes, wasted lot of my money during and after auditions for the pageant... if only they had told me what their criteria was before I invested my time, energy and money for the Miss Kilifi County 2013."

Investigations by Word Is revealed that family members and close relatives have moved to court blocking the auditions which are scheduled for October 26 and November 2.

Miss Tourism Kenya Ltd's national executive director and founder Alice Kamunge criticized Catherine's move to sue, saying the county should manage the issue.

"They should solve the issue amicably and learn from their neighbouring county, Mombasa, who have now engaged their Queen in the tourism docket," Kamunge said on phone.
