Police officers are investigating the murder of a British national who was found burnt with a corrosive acid at Utange estate in Kisauni.
CID boss Kisauni Josh Kioko said Natilie Kellsall, 24, was burnt beyond recognition by the Bandits.
Police suspect a hitman was hired to kill her and her body was burnt to conceal evidence. Kioko said Kellsall’s family has contacted the police and recorded statements on the sequence of the events before she was killed.
Kioko said the woman had gone missing from their home at Serena in Shanzu on Thursday night. Kellsall body was discovered on Friday morning.
Kioko said the woman had a dispute with her father after she was married against his wish and acquired a Kenyan citizen. He said the father will be questioned to assist in investigations into the murder.
Kellsall’s father is a British national but married to Seychelles national and both live in Nairobi. Kellsall was living in Mombasa with her husband, a Kenyan who works with a tour company.
Kisauni police boss Julius Wanjohi said Kellsall’s body was badly burnt. He said police are piecing together evidence to establish the motive of the murder.
Preliminary police investigation reveals she was murdered elsewhere and her body dumped in Utange. Mombasa county commander Robert Kitur said it is too early to speculate on the motive of the murder. Risley Kavu has been arrested in connection to the murder.
