11/09/2013
Multinational IT company, Motorola has unveiled a range of mobile devices in Kenya to meet the country’s need of digitizing government and economic operations like data collection and payment services.

“There is a lot of demand for automation both from enterprises and governments,” Motorola said.

According to Business Daily, the telecommunications firm is targeting industries with more pressing need to digitise operations like the manufacturing, industrial, supply chain and public sectors.

Reports reveal that the automation of business operations can reduce operating costs by up to 40 per cent and increase productivity thereby translating to improved earnings.

The American IT firm which opened its regional hub in Nairobi last year said it will use Kenya as a launch-pad to penetrate the wider Eastern and Horn of Africa market.

“We are set to capture automation deals in the manufacturing, industrial and supply chain sectors of the whole region”, said Anthony Fulgoni, Motorola Solutions distribution manager.
