Technical University of Mombasa has been closed indefinitely due to a strike that happened yesterday. The strike was led by engineering students who claim the university is chartered but not accredited. This comes as they realised their engineering courses are not recognised by the Engineering Board of Kenya. Which is a similar case that happened in Masinde Muliro University two years ago.
The students had talks with the adminstration over the matter, it however seemlks never yielded any credible results which led to the strike.
The administration had no otherwise but write a memo telling the students the campus has been closed till further notice.
