Anna Olila Wughanga was crowned Miss Tourism Taita Taveta after emerging best among 13 other contestants in a beauty pageant that showcased the county’s beauty, pride and cultural heritage. Anna twenty one-year-old, a student of Business Administration at the United States International University (USIU) becomes the face of Taita Taveta and will be expected to promote the county’s unique treasures – its people, culture, scenic attractions, wildlife and investment opportunities.The 1st Runners-up prize went to twenty five-year-old Clemence Mwashala while that of the Second Runners-up position was taken by twenty years-year-old Mary Ndunda. Miss Tourism Taita Taveta will also be required to undertake activities that highlight the plight of women and the girl-child in the county. She will join winners from other counties in the country to contest the national crown during the Miss Tourism Kenya finals, which will take place in Nairobi in December.
