14/11/2013The CECAFA technical committee toured and approved the Mombasa stadium to be ready to host this year's CECAFA senior challenge tournament.
The technical committee council member of East and Central Africa Mr. Albert Okech Okwako wanted the management to polish on a few remaining areas in the next 3 to 4 days before the fixtures are out for the East - Central Africa competition.
His Excellency Ali Hassan the Mombasa governor spear headed the renovations by visiting the stadium to see the progress.
He actually arrived there on Tuesday with a chopper to see how far they ve worked on it and what needs to be improved.
He urged the Mombasa County football fans to maintain calm and peace during the whole tournament something that will uplift the name of the county and open ways for football tournaments in the future.
