There has been human trafficking syndicate revealed in Kwale county recently. The locals say bodys have been recovered in weird places with some body parts missing, raising a security alarm.
However, County representative Omar Boga urges locals whose relatives are missing to report to police and stop spreading 'rumours' that there is a human trafficking and body parts selling syndicate.

He said several people have been lynched on suspicion of being among the group allegedly believed to be involved in the trade although there has not been even a single case that has been reported to police.

Addressing locals at Diani-Ukunda on Saturday last weekend after a clean up exercise, Boga said that the time has come for residents in Diani and Kwale County at large to desist from such rumours.

He decried the high rate at which some locals have lost their lives after being suspected to be among the group trading in trafficking. "If there is anyone whose relative got lost or relative's body was found missing any body parts it is time we report the matter to police or my office we don't want rumors any more," he said.

He said that those with information of cartels involved in the issue should report to police and his office also so that legal action can be taken against them.

For the last one month about two people lost their lives over the same while the County representative said that they saved lives of several people in Diani- Ukunda.

"Last week we saved two women who were claimed to be among the group trading in human trafficking at Mandingo and after following the matter up it was found that no one had evidence to support his accusation against the two let us stop this barbaric type of thing and work," he added.

Kwale County Senior Muslim for Human Rights officer Adam Chivumba said that the issue has raised problems amongst locals and urged those spreading the propaganda to stop.
