Farid Yasir Ali, who comes from Tanzania, and Zahra Noor met three years ago when they were striking some business deals here in Mombasa. The two were so serious in their business deals that they hardly noticed each others' eyes. Love, they say, conquers all, including the more business-minded hearts.
Last Saturday was the day the two lovebirds wed at the Jubilee Hall off Moi Avenue in Mombasa. Biriani was in plenty as men feasted to celebrate the nuptials. Later at night, taarab music blared as women did what they do best - dancing!
Guests included the family of the two including Mombasa politician Yasir Noor, the brother of the bride. Lamu women representative Shakila Abdalla, Kenya National Chambers of Commerce and Industry Mombasa county vice chair Rukia Rashid and Supkem's Mohdhar Khitamy were also in attendance.
The newlyweds flew out to a five-star hotel in Tanzania for their honeymoon.
